Hi Truman,
I just wanted to let you know that you were really encouraging at the National Bible Bee. Thanks for the big smile as I was going into my first oral round and for the thumbs-up to me even though YOU were the one who was advancing to semi-finals and even though you didn’t even know me. I really enjoyed watching you in finals and my family at home was cheering for you too! May God bless your ministry as you keep following HIM!

I guess I’m a little late in sending my congratulations, but once I found your blog, I couldn’t help but comment. After watching all the work Daniel put into preparing for the final competition, I can truly take my hat off to anyone who made it to the Finals, especially the second place prize holder. Continue living the conqueror’s life! “With God, all things are possible.” Matt. 19:26 (or do I even need to put a reference?).

Hey Truman! I didn’t know you had a blog. This is awesome! But I think you got something backwards. As I remember, it was you who were always encouraging the rest of us on! And even when you lost your voice! Thank you so much for being such an inspiration to me, and making the entire experience a fun one for everyone involved.

You aren’t going to believe this. We drove home from the competition Sunday, and it hit me terrible Monday morning. I was sick for two days straight! I can’t imagine what would have happened if it had come just a few days sooner. I would have been out of it for the entire competition. I am sooo grateful the Lord kept us healthy!

Any tips on how to keep the memory passages fresh? How do you plan to use them now that the Bible Bee’s over? I’d appreciate any ideas you have!

P.S. No problem with the photo. (Isn’t it kind of funny how different our expressions are? ) God be with you and keep living life to the fullest!

Way to go, Truman! It was such a blessing to get to know you even a little at Bible Bee! Your love for God was so evident and passionate–it was encouraging to meet those who radiate with Christ! I would say “continue loving God and serving Him” but I know you will. Continue striving every day, even when the days are tough. I’m sure being an intercessory missionary at IHOP will grow you even more! Wow! Isn’t God AMAZING? He never gets boring—EVER!!!!!!!

Let your live be a pebble, rippling over and over to impact the world. Learn it, Live it, Speak it! Know Him well, and make Him well known.

Oh, yeah, hope your voice gets better:)
Also, I’ll pray for you as you get publicity and attention that pride doesn’t try to get a grip on your soul! Use the shield of faith which quenches all the fiery darts (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Truman,

Congratulations! I thoroughly enjoyed watching all of you up on stage stating God’s word. (I judge Primary on Thursday and had the pleasure of just being in the moment with all of you on Friday – no kids competing to worry about, this year)! It was truly awesome. I wanted to up and give you some hot tea and some cough drops throughout out the day, but chose to pray that God would see you through. Everyone did so well. I know how hard it is, as I was proud of my son for memorizing 60 or more verses, not nearly what those of you at the Senior and Junior levels recited. May God continue to use you, your knowledge and your talents to grow and nurture his kingdom!
